
This is the second peach pie I made last weekend. How did it compare?

Simply in Season suggests that this would be a great camping dish – and I agree! It would be fun for kids, too, to see the “dumplings” magically bake.

For the record, I know that ground cherries are NOT the same as regular cherries. Ground cherries are similar to tomatillos and need to be husked. However, I did not have ground cherries, nor have I seen them at the farmer’s market, so I decided to use regular cherries for this recipe from Simply in Season.

When I saw this recipe in Simply in Season I thought “yay, I have a mulberry tree!” Unfortunately the dogs love to eat the mulberries off the ground, and the birds eat the ones on the tree.
