One of your earlier posts talked about your Dad’s fried fish and mentioned Drake’s Fish Batter Mix. I thought it might not be available as far south as Florida, but was pleasantly surprised when I looked in Winn Dixie when I was shopping today and there it was. Am anxious to try it. We don’t normally fry fish but once in a while there is nothing better than fried fresh fish. We have been enjoying an abundance of veggies from our CSA. There is only one pickup left for this season. Very few crops grow well in Florida’s heat and humidity from June – August.
Our farmer uses the summer to rest a little but prepare fields and do maintenance in preparation from the next season. I always enjoy reading your posts and love how you sub things when something isn’t handy. That’s the beauty and challenge of cooking. Happy Memorial Day weekend!
Thank you so much, I hope you enjoy your fish!
We have our creamery up and running and we can sell our cheese. Please let your friends know and if you would like to try some feel free to come out and get some. TX
Sorry forgot our name Country Winds Creamery LLC.
Enjoyed your post today. Yes, you are so right that it is OK and important to nourish one’s soul. I am guilty of doing way too much and letting things get out of perspective. When we replenish our own spirits, we can be better persons to those around us. What a blessing that you found your soul mate. I, too, found one after a failed marriage. God is so good. Spring will be coming soon and we are all looking forward to a new gardening season.
Thank you so much for stopping by. God IS good!!!!

So glad to hear you are joining a CSA again. I love not only the fresh vegetables, but the responsibility to our health to use and cook them and to support local farmers. Our CSA farmers are the hardest working people I know – and so dedicated to what they do. Spring is here in north Florida so it can’t be far behind in Michigan.
