I am itchin’ to get back into the kitchen! When I look at my blog I think my goodness, I haven’t posted in awhile. I mean recipes. Just so you know I’m not slacking, I thought I’d provide a glimpse into the past two weeks:
Eating and living locally . . . mindfully . . . simply.

Just a quick note to let you know I’m in New Orleans! I hope to resume regularly scheduled blogging when I return on Wednesday. I have lots of root vegetables and a huge basket of purple potatoes to cook when I get home so you’ll get to see what I make with them. Happy cooking!

I’ll be attending the FoodBuzz blogger festival this weekend, which I’m sure will be full of tempting treats! So I’ve been determined to not eat junk on this trip. I really wasn’t sure how to find a good restaurant, so I just Googled “local food San Diego.” Lucky for me there was an award-winning farm to table restaurant nearby!

I love Charlie Brown movies. They bring back such memories. The other day I was watching The Great Pumpkin and was transported back several years to when I was a little girl, watching it at my Grandma’s house while eating popcorn. Halloween has many special memories for me.

As you know I’ve had technical difficulties. This week has been a nightmare. I’m on the road for work and dealing with my websites disappearing. Then they tell me it’s back up, but I’ve lost a week’s worth of posts. Which they can’t restore, despite me having paid for daily backups! I am so sad to have to spend all this energy finding a new host, getting things switched, and then I’ll need to recreate the posts that were lost. {Read More}

One of the great things I discovered about blogging is the incredible community I’ve found with other bloggers. In case you’re wondering what SITS is, it’s a community of bloggers that support each other. Each day a different blog is featured, and today happens to be me!

Greetings y’all! I just returned from the Food Blog Forum Seminar in Atlanta. I had a great time learning about food photography (which I know you’ll appreciate over the next few months LOL), meeting other food bloggers, and of course tasting great food.
