A couple of weeks ago, I posted about the Brave Woman movement and its goal to raise awareness about domestic violence. Today, I’m asking you to consider taking the Brave Woman Pledge.
Over the holidays, brave women were on my mind. I had the chance to spend time with my three sisters; all are beautiful moms, and I’m so proud of the way they have grown up. (I’m the oldest, so I’d like to think I had some influence 
It’s started. The TV and radio and internet advertisements; emails telling me about all the money I could make by promoting Black Friday specials on my website; deal bloggers sharing strategies for planning your attack with the precision of an Army general. Yuck.
I love chocolate as much as the next person. Heck, probably MORE than the next person. But it troubles me to learn that so much of the chocolate we enjoy, and hand out to children at Halloween, is tainted with child labor.
As you probably know, part of my desire to eat locally has to do with how our eating habits impact the world. Since I work for an international relief and development organization, I have been up close and personal with extreme poverty. That’s why I’m so excited about the 58 Initiative.
