Like “Polar Express,” only with no dancing and you have to pay for the hot chocolate

The last few days have been quite an adventure. I had to travel to Minneapolis for work, and since I work for a nonprofit we are always trying to keep costs down. I could not find a flight under $500, and a train ticket was under $200 and didn’t seem like it would take much [...]

Book Review: The Blueberry Years

bby_cover

Remember how I talked about how The Dirty Life made me think about my past? For some reason, The Blueberry Years: A Memoir of Farm and Family made me think about a future of dreams and possibilities; which is sort of ironic, since it’s a memoir.

Ah, food bloggers and books. They go together like carrots and peas. When I was asked about whether I’d been approached about a book in an interview the other day, I smiled because it has become almost cliche’. However, The City Cook: Big City, Small Kitchen. Limitless Ingredients, No Time. More than 90 recipes so delicious you’ll want to toss your takeout menus has lots of useful info, even if it was written by a blogger ;-)

No Bakes & Pecan Sandies: A Perfect Pair of Cookie Recipes!

Over the weekend we had a potluck at our friend’s house, and as you might imagine the food was AWESOME. I especially liked these cookies by my BFF Christina. Her daughter has egg allergies, so these are an especially welcome treat for her.
