    This does sound interesting but I am of the “ignorance is bliss” philosophy when it comes to the food I eat. My teaser is from Naamah’s Curse by Jacqueline Carey.

  3. If you like this one, you could give Jared Diamond a try (e.g. Guns, Germs & Steel) – he’s another author who looks at how the entire systems of civilisations can collapse… although having said that, some other anthropologists aren’t sure about some of his methods….
